I’ve always liked looking at doors. Maybe it’s their symbolic association with change, stepping into the unknown, boundaries to knowledge, etc. Or maybe I’m just nosy and I need to know what’s behind them. I spotted this door on the side of a church in Queens, and loved the way the dappled shade bounced across the bright red door.

Oil pastel on 14 × 11” paper. A 1/4” plain border surrounds the painting, and a certificate of authenticity is included with purchase of the original.
